Vision rehabilitation begins with a comprehensive eye examination including specific evaluations for visual efficiency and visual function followed by an individualized treatment plan to address the specific condition or desired outcome as well as on-going re-evaluation.
Vision problems and concerns may stem from neurological conditions, disease, trauma, or a desire to enhance skills for a specific outcome. Therapies may include exercises to optimize visual function, assistive devices to support activities of daily living, counseling for social determinants of health, creating a care-team including other healthcare providers and or caregivers, among others.
